Greetings, fellow learner! My name is Anthony Navarro and I’m the creator and head trainer here at The WordPress Dojo.
The WordPress Dojo was spawned from a perfect storm of three of my passions: my love for teaching, my love for WordPress, and my affinity for the martial arts. (Okay, I really love making screen-casts and making multimedia presentations, … and coffee… but I digress…)
My entire professional career has been a process of self-teaching and learning from other people like me, trying to learn a little bit more about a lot of things about computers, the internet, and now – web design. For a number of years I’d been involved with the Anthony Robbins companies where I’d learned the Japanese concept of Kaizen, which Tony embraced and referred to as “Constant and Never-ending Improvement”, or CANI. Ironically, it was us Americans who taught them this concept after WWII, but again, I digress.
Several years ago I started building websites. First for myself, then for a family member, a friend, my church, and the list began to grow to the point that I decided to start doing web design and hosting as a profession. As my list of clients grew so did my awareness that there is a great need for quality training on creating websites, web design, and even just “the basics” like posts and pages. (How many of you know what the kitchen sink is in the Post and Page editor… honestly?”)
I myself am a member of several paid education sites that have benefited my career greatly… those sites, however, assume you already have the basics of each particular niche down-pat. Few, if any, started with the basics. One of the goals here at The WordPress Dojo is to fill that gap. So if you are a newly unemployed automotive technician, a housewife, a sales professional, and you wanted to learn how to blog, how to make websites as a hobby, or build websites as a part or full time profession, you’ve come to the right place!
What I hope to offer you here at The WordPress Dojo is to avoid all the hunting and pecking, trial and error, that I had to experience to get to the point where I am. I also want to cost effectively help you reach your particular WordPress goal, be it to just start your own blog, to build a few sites here and there, or to launch or expand your career and skillset.
It’s been a great journey for me, and I look forward to taking you on the next step in yours!
-Anthony
